Is there anyway to spruce up the look of the upper part of the forum? I have seen some other forums that are using snitz that look fancy.

Start playing with the code in inc_header.asp. All the non-standard headers I know of are the result of custom coding.

Just make sure you have a backup....

Many of them use mods. e.g. The Site Integration mod gives you a box at the top that you can put lots of things in.
