Hi

I'm getting a javascripot error on the post.asp page when it loads. The error is a very descriptive and helpful "Expected ';'." The line of coe it gives varies on what I've just done with the text box (highlighted, used a smiley etc.) but never seems to point to a line of code to which the error would be relevant.

The upshot is that the text box is very limited in its function. You can't highlight text or use any of the formatting buttons. i've downloaded a brand new copy of the files and set it with a fresh DB but the problem persists.

I'm using IE 6 but this shouldn't mean much as this form (forum.snitz.com) is not having any of the same issues with my browser.

Help would be much appreciated.

have you added any MODS as this is most likely the cause of your problems

Got a link so we can see the problem for ourselves? At a guess, I'd say your host is adding their own code to your files, for advertising purposes or whatever, when serving them up and not distinguishing between ASP (HTML) and JS files.

I have a fresh copy installed at http://forum.brisbanefbi.com.au/test/ using the standard DB abd getting the same error.

I haven't installed any MODs at all - it's all bog-standard.

You didn't get the error on the standard opening page but did you check the post.asp page? The problem is with the javascript on the message textbox. Try to post a message and see the JS issue there.

Ok.
Do you guys have the latest windows updates? I'm thinking maybe something in a recent update has changed something for me.

I've just tested it on another PC I have here which has been out of use for a week or so so isn't up-to-date. It worked fine. Its version of IE is 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519IS whereas I am on 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

Could that be making the difference?

I've got that same version: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 and don't get any JS errors on post.asp

This is my PC at work, it has all the latest updates on it.
