I've never worked w/ databases, barely know html and css... anyways I downloaded snitz forum's latest edition. I set up on the server thats hosting our site to use access database. I got to step 4 on the readme guide installation instructions. I don't know what to do next. the whereami.asp file didn't work... As far as I know I don't have access to put it in any folder outs side the root folder. Im on a shared server. Other than that I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Does your server support ASP? Do you have a link to your site or forum?
In what folder are you planning to keep the database file?

Your server supports ASP as it tries to run the setup.asp and the following error happened:
Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126'

Include file not found

/forum/inc_create_forum_mysql.asp, line 492

The include file 'inc_create_forum_configvalues.asp' was not found
You have also not extracted the whereami.asp from the tools.zip file that is not uploaded. You have not uploaded all the files that was in the Snitz zip file and that is where it is failing. Do not forget to change the name of the Access DB and place it in another folder that has write permissions on it. I hope that points you in the right direction.

"inc_create_forum_configvalues.asp "
I don't seem to find this file anywhere - the closest file name Ive found is
"inc_create_forum_conf#1ED56.asp"

I assume that file should have come w/ the forum program I downloaded?? Or Do I have to create that one or something?

thanks

That file exists in the Snitz zip download.

You probably think Im lame, but the only file name that remotely comes close is "inc_create_forum_conf#1ED56.asp"

"inc_create_forum_configvalues.asp " is nowhere in the zip file I downloaded. And I checked it a few times now.

I don't know what's up??

There is no "inc_create_forum_conf#1ED56.asp" in the downloaded zip. I'd suggest that you download it again.

Well I got the "inc_create_forum_configvalues.asp " straight. For some reason, maybe its mac related but it kept changing the name of that file so I just re=uploaded it and then changed the name to the proper name after it was on the server?? Weired. Now Im getting a different message. Ive tried every single way w/ the connection strings but nothing seems to be working. Maybe I have the setting on my hosting account wrong or something?
