Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to MOD the code so that the Subscription email notification gives a link to the LAST page of the thread?
Right now, the link goes to the first page.
Be gentle :)

See my second last reply in this topic. You'll also need to add whichpage=-1 to the querystring when linking members to topic.asp from your subscription e-mails. This will bring subscribers to the last reply on the last page of a topic.

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

Sorry Shaggy,
I have added the code to the topic.asp and it has not appeared to give me any issue.
How do I modify the subscription email part? |

Find the following on line 188 of inc_subscription.asp and add the code in green:strMessage = strMessage & "You can view the posting at " & strForumURL & "topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=" & TopicId & "?whichpage=-1" & vbNewline |
Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

Shaggy,
Put that live and some users are reporting issues:
First is that subscriptions have stopped working (however, manual email message using the forums still work).
The second is that *some* readers are giving the following error on the rss.asp file:
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0bb9'
Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another.
/forum/topic.asp, line 411
Line 411 is:
rsReplies.absolutepage = mypage '**

For some reason there's a ? above where there should be a &; corrected below.strMessage = strMessage & "You can view the posting at " & strForumURL & "topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=" & TopicId & "&whichpage=-1" & vbNewline What's rss.asp and why's it pulling an error from topic.asp? The line you reference is unrelated to the changes I provided you with.

Can you post a link to a *.txt copy of your topic.asp file? Do you have any topics that are more than 1 page long?

If this is happening consistently across all topics then there's a quick fix that I can give you, but you'll need to test a few topics with differing numbers of replies (including 0) before applying the fix as, if it's not a consistent problem, it'll just break something else. Would love to know why it's happening like this for you, but I can only assume it's clashing with a mod you have installed.
