I have just downloaded the forum and am considering installing it onto one of my test sites.

After reading through all of the literature and install instructions I am left feeling that I cannot load this onto a test site as my knowledge of .asp is limited.

I have web hosting that will handle Snitz but it just seems to be beyond my knowledge.

Can someone please give me some advice on knowledge levels required to upload and run this forum?

Thanks

I've seen too many people who know nothing about asp and have their forums up and running pretty quickly. All you need is to add two small changes to the config.asp, so I'd say you don't need that much to run a forum such as this.

Thanks for that.

Having read through the instructions a number of times I have now amended the config.asp file to what I think I need.

I suppose my next question is how to get it onto the internet!

I have a website up and running and have copied the files into the ftp folder for that site.

What next?

A link on the site to.......... To what?

Or is this something that only I can find out by trial and error due to different sites and servers working differently?

So, you have a website. That have website must have a folder where you put the stuff you want to show in the website. The easiest way would be to create a folder inside this folder where you now put your stuff, call it forum. Then upload the Snitz files into that folder.

The Snitz mdb file should go elsewhere, as explained in the readme. The best folder for it would a folder at the same level as your root web folder (the starting folder for your website stuff).

Assuming you're using Access and the folder allows read/write access to the mdb file.
