I would like to integrate Snitz into my existing website. At present, I'm using Forumco as host, which uses Snitz. Is it possible to transfer all data from my existing forum to a Snitz integrated into my website? |

Well, I assume your DB is now on Forumco servers. I don't know how that works. Do you even have access to the DB? If not will they hold your DB hostage? |

Knowing the host, I'm sure that they'll be reasonable.
Regardless of you hosting it or keeping it on another host, you're probably still going to want to look into the Site Integration MOD to keep a fairly consistent look and feel. (It also helps to keep your main link structure available throughout the site.. I hate sites where you get into a section and you can't get out... but that's another rant for another time...)
Best bet thought is to ask the host instead of wonder.
(I hate the typos that spell-check can't find) |

The reason I asked the questions I did is that I've looked at that site before. It didn't look to me like they operate as a "host" in the true sense of the word.
It looked to me like they set up the forum for you using a web interface. I don't think you get any FTP access or DB access and such like with a regular host. They supply the forum for free but they have their ads on it unless you pay a monthly fee.
But I could be wrong.

Yes, that is what they offer.
Basically what he meant was he is using Forumco as his forum host, not his website host, since Forumco doesn't provide website hosting. Unless they went into that new business recently, but I doubt it. |

Sounds now that the OP wants to pull out of forumco and put the forum on his own website/host.
So my question is, since forumco will be losing advertising, if he pulls out how willing will they be to give up his DB that they provided and hosted for free?

He needs to talk with Forumco about it. See what options he has available to him. |
