There are a lot of different MOD's on the snitzbitz website. There are also several at other sites. My question is, which MOD's do you consider essential and which ones are more trouble than they are worth?
MOD's I have installed that I really like are:
- Reset Password
- Email Reminder To Pending Members
- Active Users MOD 4.0.20
- Contact The Administrator MOD
- Recently Seen Members
- Syndication MOD
- Referer MOD

I've installed SO many mods, and that is on an already modded SHN forum. I've had some small problems with mods not being coded for MySQL and somehow my server don't like some of OWM's mods but apart from that all mods has been relatively easy to install. What I'm trying to say is that if you think a mod could be useful, install it! Many of the mods I've installed is for admins/moderators only, I try not to give the users too much to worry about since many of them aren't that handy with computers =)

IMHO, most of the MODs depend on what you need for your forum. Some of the ones I consider to be "essential" are the MODs that make Administration easier and supplement other base functions; FAQ Admin, Forum Rules, Split Topic, Referrer, maybe UserGroup - you get the idea.
But that's just me. |

"reset password" isn't that in the base code now ?
But essentials for me ...
- Active Users - Private Messages
and there's one other that I can't think of |

If it is, perhaps it should be removed from SnitzBitz. Or at least update the posting over there to let people know they don't have to add it in if they have the most recent version of the forum.
To keep on topic, though, here's a few MODs that I can't live without (in no particular order):
- Active Users
- Events Calendar
- FAQ Admin
- Rules Admin
- Anonymous Posting
- Member Map

I've just installed the latest version of Snitz on a website a little over a week ago and Reset Password was not included. I have however added it from SnitzBitz. |

You can reset a users password, simply by clicking on the Edit Member icon () in the members.asp page.quote: Originally posted by leatherlips

It will then let you change the password or other details in the users profile. So it is installed. |

I guess the MOD allows you to send the user an email with their new password. |

The user can reset their own password if they have forgotten it, by simply going to http:// <your forum link>/password.asp and it will reset it for them in 3 easy steps. Or if they are logged in and would like to change their password, they can go to their profile and change it that way..
