I would like to add the avatar feature to my forum. I have been trying to follow the directions that were given to the user oldprimdolls for downloading the avatar feature. First thing I am reading about the process says "upload all files to your forum directory" then:
1. Go to Admin Options>Mod setup
2. Select Avatar Mod for 3.4 from the dropdown list
3. Click "update"
Now steps 1-3 sound easy but where is the "forum directory" ?? so I can upload the files??
Thanks in advance to who ever can help me. I am new to computers. So hopefully I will be able to do this. |

| My forum came as part of my estore that I have from www.wahmshoppes.com . I just had to click on "install & activate Snitz forum . That was it . I love it but I want to have avatars.My forum is www.just4pugs.com/community |

| Ok I was just reading the "idiot's guide to MOD impementation" thats in your signature... I think I'm afraid to even try now. I don't even know how to "back up " everything incase something goes wrong! I just thought maybe it was only a matter of clicking on "download" or something like that LOL! I guess I need to get someone over here who knows what they are doing on a computer to help me. |

Seriously though, modifications require progressively more geekiness to install, and someone that doesn't even know what FTP is would have a real hard time dealing with those avatar mods - especially if you go all the way and allow user uploads.
Anyway, know that there are several people here for hire and I imagine one would be willing to code the avatar mod(s) for you very cheaply (<2 hours). I have no idea what forum to post that question in, but try a search on 'hire'. |
