I have installed the active users mod but i notice that I can not now manually activate a pending member. Clicking on "activate account" just brings up "page cannot be displayed".
I think the problem is in the register.asp file and a link to that txt file is http://www.kazzys-cavies.co.uk/forum/txt_files/register.txt if someome could take a peek for me??

Mods installed:- autoresizeimages, activeusers, pending member profile, guestbook, FAQ, forumrules, profileviews

Thanks

Dave

Further to this... I have just cleared cache and found that clicking on register brings up the privacy statement but clicking on agree brings up page cannot be displayed.. more serious than I originally thought??

1. Wjhy are you manually activating members ? (You should just approve them, and they do the rest)

2. When I try to register I get this error :

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03f6'

Expected 'End'

/forum/register.asp, line 624

else

If you're using IE, turn friendly messages OFF so you can see the real error.

3. The looping page when you press AGREE is almost cetainly a problem with NIS (Norton Internet Security)... DISABLE it while you register or implement the referrer mod.

You have activated this code on your site :

<br /><p align="center"><font face="Comic Sans MS" size="4" color="red">Sorry, we are not accepting any new Members at this time.</font></p>
    <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="5; URL=default.asp">

BTW i find it easy when testing to create a new member and activate rather than wait for the e-mail

That's about the only reason to manually approve, but then you're not really testing that the system works properly, hey ?
