I am not sure if this topic is in the correct forum but.
To make a lomf story short.
I am running win server 2003. Access 2000 date base and IIS 6.
I love it and it works great. The forums work great with this setup and everything is so easly set with win 2003 server. But Win 2003 server keeps crashing. I believe that is common for this program.
The eroor OSver:5_2_3790 SP: 0_0 Product 274_2
What I would like to know is. How dificult would it be to set up Winxp Proffessional as the server. I mean I have tried it nad it is nothing like win 2003. I was not even able to see where to set it up for asp or php.
Hope ya can help and ya have some good news.

Win XP was not designed to work as a production server. Because of that, and other reasons, you won't be able to handle much of a user load. Its great for local testing (In add/remove windows components you'll need to add IIS)
I would work on getting Win2k3 working better instead. I'd make sure that the most current MDAC and JET service packs are installed. You might even want to consider upgrading from Access to something else... If cost is an issue than either MySQL or SQL Server Express could work.

Exactly!, IIRC XP allows about 10 user connections. Use W2K, it's designed to be a server, XP is designed to be a client. |

If he's got Win 2003, why not just figure out what's causing the trouble since they're both server-grade? |

Ok I will try to explain this ass clear as possible
Go to the web site below. Scrorl down and quickly read what it is. This is Mcafees discripion of the worm. http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_125007.htm
Now the problem is I have gone through that site right from the top to the bottom of the Manual remove instructions. The file that is says to delete ( AVSERV.exe ) is not on my computer. Done three serches for nothing. The files that is is suppose to copy to
Examples
c:\WINDOWS\system32\11583_up.exe c:\WINDOWS\system32\16913_up.exe c:\WINDOWS\system32\29739_up.exe
I dont have anything like them eather. Nothing at that adress is correct for my problem that i am having and every thig that they are saying to do I cant do because I dont have the files to do it with.
The only thing that is correct is I am getting the LSA shut down window popup. and I am getting the Systen shut down window. And the ones that I am getting has the exact test an in there pics.
I dont think it is the worm but something maybe in the computer hard ware it self. I have tried anumber of video cards.
This is the explanation of what Lsass.exe is supposed to and that is the file that the shut down windows says is causing the problem.
lsass.exe" is the Local Security Authentication Server. It verifies the validity of user logons to your PC/Server. It generates the process responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon service. This process is performed by using authentication packages such as the default Msgina.dll. If authentication is successful, Lsass generates the user's access token, which is used to launch the initial shell. Other processes that the user initiates inherit this token. More info at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263201&sd=tech
Now you are probibly says why done that dummy just do a virus scan with Mcafee. That is what my kids are says. I cant find a copy of Mcafee that will install on win 2003 server. They keep says wrong operating system.
I should also mention I did download the Microsoft update to be protected from the exploit used by this worm. I hope that solves my problem. But I did that after I posted the problem so I have to wait to see if it does.

Trend Micro ( http://www.trendmicro.com ) also does online scanning and I've had some luck with them.
I've been using AVG (from grisoft) for some time now and have been very happy with it. Good AV and small footprint. |
