Today an old 'complaint manager' function that was modded onto my forum before I took over became a liability as it was used to post a bunch of bogus casino messages to the admins. While frantically searching for a way to disable the mod, I clicked on
Mod Setup->Huw's Release 10 Updates
and now I have a yellow sidebar on the left side of my forum that floats on screen. I've since found the docs for the complaint manager mod and disabled it, but now I'm stuck with a sidebar that everyone seems to hate. I tried Huwr's site but I get an error whenever browsing there leading me to believe the site is down. Does anyone know how to kill this mod? My Snitz version is
[Snitz Forums 2000 Version 3.3.03]
I realize this is likely a Huwr-specific problem, but any info would be helpful. Thanks. |

When you clicked on 'Mod Setup->Huw's Release 10 Updates', was that in the "MOD Setup" page off of the admin functions? |

Unless Huw's got a nifty uninstaller somewhere, you should be able to use the original DBS file to back-track all the changes... but that's just a guess off the top of my head.
As always, make backups! |

In your forum directory (unless you deleted it) you should see a file that looks something like dbs_modnamehere.asp. If you open that up in your favorite text/asp editor, you should see the DBS script. Post the contents and I'll try to help from there. (I'll be teaching a class this afternoon - in 4 or 5 hours - so I may take a bit to get back.) |
