I just moved my site to a dedicated server. I have everything up and running but am having some slight e-mail problems. When I send mail through the forum it sends out just fine, it'll reach anyone, but if someone registers at the forum, there's an error message that gets posted above after it says registration is almost complete only to click link in e-mail.. the message says:
quote:
Your request was not sent due to the following error: 503 Must have sender and recipient first. Your Registration Is Almost Complete!
Please follow the instructions in the e-mail that has been sent to someone@somewhere.com to complete your registration.
I assure you these are filled and passed on just fine. It will send the e-mail to any address local to the server but say if it's a yahoo account it wont reach it or anywhere else for that matter. I don't know what could be the problem. Can anyone suggest or instruct me on how to fix this. Thank you.
-edit- thought I had posted in the previous versions forum, forum version is 3.4.03 -end edit- |

well, I was using htmail server on port 25 and the smtp server was also pointing to port 25 and the service would not even start, the port number was changed to a different one for the smtp server and all started working using cdonts. I tried using aspmail and continued getting errors which I cannot understand. Would like to get it working with aspmail component though, after all I did buy it Was working fine on the old server, don't know why it won't work on the new one if no code changes have been made. Thanks. |
