Hey everyone,

I've been looking around on the forums as well as elsewhere, but I can't seem to find a good set of instructions on how to get Snitz working with NT Authorization using Active Directory. I have authorization type set to NT, and my users can log in without a password (they are logged in as Name (userid), but I can't seem to get the forums locked down using the NT Global Groups.

I have the forum setup on the company intranet. We use Active Directory. I have the Use NT Groups option set to On. When I create a new forum, set Auth Type to NT Global Group, and put the domain\globalgroup information in the Password or Global Groups field, the people who are members of that global group get an access denied message.

I'm also curious as to what the Use NT AutoLogon option is for. When I click on the help button it pops up a blank page.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

Hi Dave,

I am afraid NT authentication is a weak spot on our support, there aren't that many members that use it. So, even though I hope someone can offer some help, don't be surprised if no one is able to help.

Thanks, I'll keep my fingers crossed. :)

Edit: Well, in my fumbling through the NT Authentication, I found out two things:

1) When you use NT Groups, the group names are case sensitive
2) You have to separate group names with a comma (I was using semicolon)

At this point, the forums seem to be working perfectly with NT Groups.

Edit: Oh, and one other thing. I discovered that I don't have to put a domain name in front of the group name. Before I was trying domainname/groupname, but no need for it.

Hello,

I have the same problem. I have 2 or more NT Groups, but they are not all authorized.

I have them typed in case sensitive and with a comma.

But the users are not authorized...???
With 1 NT Group, it works fine...?
