I use vers. 3.4.03.

When I try to use "Restrict Registration" with "E-mail Validation" it doesn't functioning any more. When I give access to the member a messages says "Now you can use the forum....." but it should have been sent to the member.:-(
When I try to use ONLY "E-mail Validation" a mail is sent to the member but the activationkey doesn't function.

I used to use "Restrict Registration" and "E-mail Validation" disabled and this is still functioning.

I think the problem started after making this changes but I'm not sure

Can somebody help, please? And what file do you want to see?

I's NOT the problem because I have just tested the site again WITHOUT the changes about and there are still problems.

Please tell me which files to look in to figure out what could be the problem?

Are you "activating" or "approving" the pending members? One sends an email and the other doesn't as far as I know.

I don't know what you mean, I don't use pending members, I think.:-)

I found some files I have saved before making the changes but I have much difficulties in figuring out what to change because there have maybe been some other changes later because of MODS, sorry.
I have uploaded the 3 files in use and the OLD 3 files so I would be very happy if an ASP expert could help me WHAT to change back getting this to work with "Restrict Registration" and "E-mail Validation"

Describe what happens e.g. post error messages, etc.

If you set "Restrict Registration" to "On" in the Admin Section then you must approve each member in the Admin Section before they can join the forum. The idea is to prevent people you don't want from joining the forum.

What mods have you added ?
