Is it possible? I can't seem to find the setting.

I just installed the current version on Win 2003 with an Access backbone.

Look for subscriptions . You can set it at board, forum or topic level.

I set it to all of the settings and I see no difference from each setting.

If I set it to whole board, it doesn't do it... if I set it to topic it doesn't do it.

I appear to. If a user registers an email is sent...

I find this part of the forums really confusing.

Can somebody provide a step by step procedure to make a thread like this, email me when update if I want it to.

I changed the subscription level in the admin area and then in the forum properties area.

I guess you guys get a bunch of newbies around here...

I have done everything that I understand to be right... but documentation gets a little fuzzy for the end part.

I have my email stuff setup for CDONTS... it works for registration and password reset emails.

I set up the settings to allow subscriptions to the topic level. I then set that categorie/forum to allow for subscriptions. Never get an option to subscribe. The only time I have gotten an option to subscribe is when I set the main setting to allow subscriptions to the forum level then set the categorie to allow subscriptions at the forum level. But the subscription doesn't seem to do anything.

You to subscribe to something, then it will work.

I do agree though, it takes a bit of figuring out the first time, largely because you can very precisely control what can be scubscribed to and what cannot be.

But when I set everything to allow subscriptions to the topic level, I see no link that allows me to subscribe to any topic.

I finally did get this working... not sure exactly what I did, just kept messing with the settings and it finally took.

Will need to eventually look at what I did :-)

I'd really like to see this made more streamlined in a future version.
