Hi All

I am new to working with ASP. I have installed KF Web Server and had it up and runing with a HTML site ok. I then added active server pages from seliSoft to my webserver. I made a .ASP file that connected to a MS Access datebase. My problem is that I can view my ASP page in my web browser with http://localhost, but no one on the Internet can see it when they use the my http://mi0kam.ath.cx which I have setup as a DNS address for my IP. I have port 80 open on my router. When I just had a HTML page others were able to see it ok.
Any ideas would be great.

Kind Regards
Kathryn

Check that you ISP is not blocking port 80. if they are then you'll have to change port's to something your ISP is not blocking.

Helterskelter, Kathryn has stated that with normal HTML others are able to view the site, but not the ASP side. So port 80 would be open.

Kathryn,

Check to see if the ActiveHTML software server has started on your local machine. There could be a conflict between IIS (if you istalled it on your local machine) an the ActiveHTML server. I take it that you are using a Windows based machine for your website. The thing it could be is a port conflict with your current web server and the new web server. One is not starting because the port is in use.

If you are using your desktop for testing, which is all non-server operating software is good for, then you should of been able to test asp on it as you had the web server running.

I hope that points you in the right direction...

Cheers,

David Greening
