Shouldn't have had to "reinstall" anything... are you referring to the Admin. E-Mail in the Admin's profile or in the Email Server Configuration?
Look at the URL in the confirmation E-mail. If its not the URL you entered in the Main Forum Configuration, you need to go there and change it. Unless I'm seriously mistaken, the URL you enter in the Main Forum Configuration is the URL used to generate the confirmation URL.
