I have noticed in some cases where a pending member has been approved but they do not receive an email notification. All other aspects of email is working fine. I registered a dummy member using my email address, then approved the dummy member and have not received an email. Any ideas?

Maybe you are activating the account instead of approving it?

I think this maybe similar to my problem where email verification cannot take place because users with AOL accounts do not receive the confirmation email.
As a result, they are left waiting for approval???

No, I am approving pending members, not activating them. As for the dummy member I created, it does not have an aol email address...

I set up a different dummy user using a different email address and it worked. Guess for those email addresses (such as aol or netzero), we are left to activate the accounts and manually send emails?

If it's aol, then you will never be able to send emails to them unless your email server is in their whitelist.

Anyone know how I can have the approved emails cc'd to the forum administrator?
