I use CDOSYS in many of my ASP application and it works fine, however the SNITZ forum does not seem to work.

To test the settings. Either send a user a mail via the forum or with the current setting, when a new user registers, he gets a mail to validate his mail address (without the validation, the user should get a welcome mail anyway).

Maybe it`s your mail component (CDOSYS). Try using another. You can test, which mail components are installed on your server, by uploading testemailcomponent.asp (it`s in the tools zip that comes with the forum package) to your server and run it with your browser.

Okay reviewed all that but the only emails being sent out are for new users registration, nothing on subscriptions.

Subscriptions may not be setup correctly then.

You don't receive subscriptions for your own posts. Have you tested it with another account? Moderators don't receive email subscriptions either.

Administrators get notified of other peoples posts.

Have you done the following ?
First edit a category and allow subscriptions. Then edit a forum within that category and allow subscriptions. Users should receive notifications of new posts according to whatever level you have allowed.

Have you checked that subscriptions are still set to allowed in your admin area under "Feature Configuration" ?
