Hi guys anyone know if I can use snitz forums on the blueyonder.co.uk server? It uses unix and Chile, but I have tried everything to get it working but no go.
If anyone else has been successful with blueyonder please let me know.

Thanks

You mean it has Chili!ASP? It should work, if you have Chili. What error do you get?

My browser displays the ASP code no matter what Access setting I use.
Blueyonder do say they have restrictions but don't say what they are.

Reading this

They allow ASP, but then u should not get the code display unless they have changed their setting's and now changed ther hosting services.

Also it say's u cant upload a database, thus resualting in a dead forum as well.

Yes, it seems that you will need to talk to the host. Being a *nix server, you must be able to use a MySQL Db.

Ok, I'll see what they have to say, but they usualy say "I don't know".

Thanks for your help.

"I don't know" isn't the most helpful response...if that's what you'll be expecting from their tech support it may be an early warning flag?

Blueyonder are fine if all you want to do is host pretty much flat HTML pages, if you want to do anything more technical, such as run Snitz then you should try looking for another host. Blueyonder are a pretty good ISP when it comes to service levels and up time, but for any sort of tech support... forget it, they do not want to know, unless of course you want to pay for a corporate account.

I do my own hosting so cannot even suggest a host for you, but I am sure some of the more experienced members here could point you in the right direction.

We still have an ongoing rule about host discussions here: they are not allowed. So I deleted the last reply and will lock this topic.
