I have searched the forums for this answer and cannot find it.

I want to show the "Edited By:" line when Administrators edit a post or a reply.

Use the search page. Someone posted code for that a little while ago.

I did search the forums and could not find any code changes for this. That is why I put the following in my post.....

If you can direct me to that post instead of telling me to search after I posted that I had already searched I would appreciate that.

The above thread you have sent is if you want to STOP showing the edited by feature. I WANT the edited by feature to appear for admins also. I'm sry to be so blunt but your running me around the same way the search page did. A simple answer to my original request would help to expedite the situation.

If you read the topic, you can see the solution:

in post_info.asp search
if mLev < 4 and strEditedByDate = "1" then

that is the string that set the update of the field editby, and the mlev < 4 set the admin out of the update.

Change to
if strEditedByDate = "1" then

(there is more than one occurence..)

Thanks anyway....I figured it out. I changed the mlev in that portion of the code that reads "if mLev < 4" to 5 on the post_info.asp page.

If you would have replied to my post with that info it would have been more helpful than telling me to search and sending me to a link where the topic was exactly the opposite of what I asked for.

Kudos to me for helping myself....great community

Anyway the topic lead you in the right direction, the community is based on the free time of each other and nobody can claim a support.
If someone has the solution is his pleasure to post it, but it is not a duty. And patience is a good word!

DeMoNSith, no problem, you're very welcome. Of course, you would be able to figure it out by yourself, without the link. I have no doubts about it whatsoever .

P.S.: I also like the old chinese proverb, in my own free citation: "if you give a man a fish, you'll feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you'll feed for many more days".

You may find with an attitude like yours that you won't get much help from anyone.
