Hiya, Snitzy people, LTNS :)
I just upgraded a heavily moded board (with backup!) from a version I installed in 2002. So please bear with me as I'm a bit out of Snitz practice - have not used the admin UI in a long time and can no longer which features of my board were mods and which were standard install.
The users of this board are not capable enough to deal with completing a registration form and activating their account via email. They're just not. Previously, on my moded old install, I had a function where I could register them manually and they just got an email saying "Hi, here's your username and password and the link to log in. Thanks."
After upgrade, user registration is still off (people cannot just register) but I can't register anyone, either. Actually I can't even find the registration settings - wow, I'm out of practice and just generally lost.)
Anyway, what can I do to fix this and be able to register folks? Is there a setting I've forgotten about? A mod? Should I just roll back?
ETA: Also, I have lost my included header and side bar - was that a mod as well? Eeeks!
Thanks for any advice :) |

I don't know about the other stuff, but I think you probably used the site integration mod for the header and side bar... though I couldn't say for sure. |

How do they know how to use a forum then ?
Turn off email validation maybe |

They don't. They read, nobody posts. These people all work for various public departments; what can I tell you?
OK so yes, Site Integration Mod will need to go back in. Thanks for that. Can anyone help with the manually registering users bit? Cheers :) |

Bri, please refrain from double posting; Rui has answered your question here.
