I am working within a intra net were most users do not have a email account. How can i turn this off in the registration form. I have tried to turn off email validation i even turned off email mode, but it still requires a email address to register.

it still requires an email address even when not using email validation., however the email address does not have to exist if you are not using validation, so they can use any address

Even with email mode turned off it still requires you to put a address in. And it will not accept any thing that is not in a email format,"com or .net"

Also while i was experimenting i noticed that when i have it set so as i have to approve accounts, it just bypasses this and registers them anyway.

Yes, by changing register.asp. You should be aware that may raise other issues with some other forum functionalities. Not sure about which, but it may happen.

probably the quickest solution would be to

1) turn off require-unique email in the admin options
2) edit register.asp and prefil the email field with a dummy address and then make it hidden

You asked the same thing here too. Did that answer not work for you? I've been using it on the intranet site at work for almost 2 years now and we haven't had any problems yet. Though, for the record, we don't use any of the e-mail related features either.
