Will the IPGATE MOD enable me to redirect a user by his Username (not his IP) to a different page?

If not can someone suggest how or where I pick up the code that determines the Username?

Cheers, Ken.

Yes the IPGate Mod is able to "redirect a banned, blocked user to a customized page."

When running the MOD install there is a problem in creating one of the db tables (I'm using MS Access 2000).

I get an error
-2147217865 | [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Could not find output table 'FORUM_PAGEKEYS'.

Please see http://www.arborfieldoldboys.co.uk/ipgate.txt for details.

By the way i had a similar problem trying to install a Smilie Manager which I then abandoned!

I've hand patched FORUM_IPLIST, FORUM_PAGEKEYS AND FORUM_IPLOG into my Access db and that makes the MOD work OK.
But I'd still like to know why the MOD doesn't create the tables.

I've read the comments in http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=52219 on inc_create_forum_mysql.asp file to see if there was any similarity for inc_create_forum_access.asp but could not see anything.

Did you run the dbs files as instructed by the redames?

Search is your friend

taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.”

Certainly did.

A supplementary question - how is Redirection implemented?

Cheers, Ken.

In the setting turn the redirection to ON. For the customize the redirected page alter ipgate_banned.asp as you see fit. I believe it also depends on how you block/ban a user as to whether the attempt is redirected or not.

run this in your alternate mod set.

[CREATE]
PAGEKEYS
PAGEKEYS_ID
PAGEKEYS_PAGEKEY#varchar(32)#NULL#
[END]
[INSERT]
PAGEKEYS
(PAGEKEYS_PAGEKEY)#('post.asp')
[END]

you are missing a table

redirect is done one of 2 ways, you customize a page, modify inc_ipgate.asp to use that page and change the setting.

or you can use/change the default message for banning and ignore creating custom pages.
