Ever since I visited these forums I have been increasingly aggressive in programming. I don't even want to play games anymore which were my favorite pasttime, I just want to sit down and code. Before visiting these forums and learning what everyone has to offer, my coding skills and confidence ware critically low. I was ready to give up my struggling battle to code on my own.
But now I am working on my own mod, soaring in school and actually fully understand what I am doing at work. When I first came here I could look at code and tell you exactly what it does. Now I can create my own code for others to follow.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who posts code, offers suggestions and has given to this community. Snitz Forum is the place to be!!
Thanks alot! |

Same here Etymon =) It's a shame that you can't get some paper as proof of what you've learned by using snitz, hehe.

Well, this community helped me learn a lot too over the years, it comes around and goes around, and we're all learning the whole time
Personally, I'm really so pleased and proud to be involved with this program and community, and I'm glad it is friendly and helpful enough a place that you want to keep coming back |

I have to admit it as well.. This community has helped me learn a thing or 2 about asp, programming in general, not to forget "mateship" not only in Australia but the rest of the world as well, and am glad and proud to be a part of the community. I am also proud too of helped quite a few people with what knowledge I have to increase their knowledge.
Good topic start Zuel...

Zuel, I agree 100%. I have never seen anything like this community, neither on the net nor in the other world: experts sharing their knowledge to us knowing almost for certain that they never will get anything back from us (at least not from me). I understand that our q:s per se will contribute to development but still it´s just GREAT to be part of it. From this forum I get a lot of energy for paying forward in other areas, professional and private ones. |

But of course, it's a baton-passing race! My days at the coding edge are pretty much over, and I know ('cos it happenned to me!) that members here then pass the mantle to the next generation, and we all have occasional love-ins like this thread |

This has been a wonderful place. My SQL skills have grown tremendously since I started actively participating here.
I'm trying to see if I can get this to count as the requirements for "Keeping skills current", "Participation in a professional organization", and "Submitting new material for peer review". These requirements have been added to my annual performance evaluation... my goal is to find a way to get paid for the time I spend at Snitz (Not counting the time I'm here when I should be doing other things...).
Since I'm a departamental programming team of 1, I really enjoy the opportunity to work with people who share the same passion that I have for computers and programming. |

I'm just happy to be apart of the passion that you guys still have after the months and years of being here.
And speaking of SQL, I only knew how to show the result from the Enterprise Manager pane. Now Write my own and parse the arrays to grab the info.
I'm actually staying home from work for a few extra hours so I can code.
