I have adjusted my clock for UK time (+8hrs) in the admin setup, but the clock still showsincorrect time. It shows 6 minutes fast when posts are made. How can I alter the clock? |

yep, clocks drift, it's part of life. Your host should do this for you, it's a 2-minute job :) |

I'm glad this was brought up.
My host doesn't seem to know how to correct the clock on my forum. Could someone post the process here so I could send the instructions to him?
Thanks- Nina |

It depends .... if the clock is out by hours, then it's your responsibility as an admin to adjust the offset properly.
If the clock is out by a few minutes you can probably live with it. I would guess that most proper hosts have their clocks synced via the net anyway - no ? |

Win2K can. It wasn't the best, but it was functional. |

Interestingly it can lead to problems when clocks are badly out-of-sync, as I discovered with early Virtual Server images. Funny old world. |

Um ... If your host doesn't know how to adjust the clock on the server, I'd recommend finding yourself a new host as soon as possible!

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

Thanks for all the help.
I can't make excuses for my host's lack of knowledge but I think he's a little confused when it comes to Snitz forums. He's never worked with providing a forum before, and he might be afraid of gumming up the whole works.
I'll pass on the info about changing the server's clock - and that will automatically change the clock on my forum as well? It's only off by 20 minutes.

yep - all he has to do is change the clock on the server for it to be right and your forum will sufddenly show the right time (if you have the +8/whatever) offset set! |
