Seems like the connection string change was the fix. Probably changing the option value to 16387 in config.asp.

I have this line strConnString = "driver=MySQL;server=localhost;uid=hidngplace;pwd=*******;database=myhnt15a035" '## MySQL w/ MyODBC v2.50

I am getting very frustrated, I have had our family forum down now for 4 months and wondering if a free one would be better. What would cause a forum to just crash?

What error do you get? What do you mean by the forum to crash?

Well, it doesn't really crash. It is just as soon as someone logs in they get this error

Did you change the connection string as explained? What version of MySQL are you using?

/forum/inc_header.asp, line 488

so does that mean the error in the inc_header.asp and line 488 ??

Sorry, I really don't know this better.

This is the only thing on that line

Can you change the connection string to be like this one:

strConnString = "driver={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};option=16387;server=SERVER_IP;user=***;password=***;DATABASE=***;"

I am beginning to think maybe I should just go somewhere to get a forum hosted by a site. Any recommendations?
