Hello,
A while back I had a vandal on my forums, so I started aproving new forum members.
Unfortunately, I can't change it back to open registration. The switch no longer seems to have any effect.
Is there just something I can change in the DB to open up registrations again?

Here:

It doesn't matter what I change in admin, all new members must be approved. I'm just asking you: is there something I can change directly in the db to turn this off? |

Just past this into the alternate mod configuration window in Admin Options and run it: [UPDATE] CONFIG_NEW C_VALUE#0#C_VARIABLE='STRRESTRICTREG' [END]
Then just run setup.asp or use the admin option to Check Instalation. |

Sorry to intrude on this topic, but I have the same problem. Right now, I have to authorize every new member that registers. Unfortunatelly, there may be times when I don't go into our forum for days or weeks (which is too bad, I know), so new members have to wait for me to authorize them and they get desperate, so I have had no posting whatsoever, due to this problem. As Michael says, I've tried to change everything I could, and nothing works. I tried ruirib's tip and tried to register with a diferent username and it didn't work either. I still have to authorize. Am I doing something wrong? Is there anything else I might have to do? I'd really appreciate your help since this forum is an important tool for our site and this problem has been setting us back for quite a while now.
Thanks
