Hi Guys

I have just downloaded and installed the forum. Everything worked fine. I have about 30 - 40 registered users and growing - only been available for a day or so. However, 2 users have said that they cannot get past the privacy statement screen. They click accept but go nowhere??

The site is at http://www.chelmsfordchieftains.com/snitz_forum/default.asp

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It just seems odd that it is only 2 of them. It makes me suspect that it is there end rather than the forum?

I have since read some stuff on the referrer mod being needed, however, it would appear to be in the mod section that is locked? Or am I just misunderstanding?

Steve

Ask them to disable Norton Internet Security while registering.

Yes, Referrer Mod which should fix the problem for those users. You have to edit one or two files
and upload them to your host.

I'm experiencing similar problem but I don't have Norton installed and my situation is a bit different. I just upgraded from 3.4.4 to 3.4.5 (only uploaded the upgrade files). The Forum works with the exception of a few things, registration is one. I just noticed now also that it won't let me log off and I'm logged on as Admin. I'm wondering if all these problems are related to my upgrade install which did NOT complete as per Readyme file. I wasn't able to get the "Update Counts" function to work in Admin Options. The process got stuck at step 1 or 5 and never finished the process. I have tried sever times with same results. I don't have any mods installed on my forum and I'm using Accss 2000 for DB. Any directions from here would be greatly appreciated. Wil

Done that but the problem still there. I lock up the forum upon doing this process and after about 20 minutes or so of being "frozen" I go back to the forum and the forum is nolonger locked. Thanks for the reply.

What exactly do you mean, locked up the forum? Shut it down?

Yes that's what I meant, shut down the Forum in the Admin Options.

Yeah, coming outta the lock happens sometimes.

What connection string are you using? Post just the initial part, no need to post path and database details.

That's what I'd recommend. Is that your server? Also, do you have a big DB file?

No I don't have my own server, my forum is hosted elsewhere. Will provide details if you need specifics. Currently the size of my db is 57MB. It gained 4MB just by upgrading from 3.4.4 to 3.4.5.

If you feel like and want to email me a link to your DB, I can check it locally and eventually complete the upgrade.

ruirib,
Thank you for all your help, couldn't have done without you. I'd buy you a cup of coffee but distance appears to tamper that idea. I took your advide and installed the full version (3.4.5) and wallah! Everything is back running normal like it did before I tried the upgrade. PS: The problem was still there after the full install and I sort of panic a bit at first but then I remembered your first reply above..."delete cookies and retry". Thanks again.
