.. they vote.

When the users see the poll the "show results" button is there (and it works) .. even though they haven't voted yet.

I've set this in the poll config "Allow Users to View Poll Results Before Voting" is set to OFF in the ADMIN section

Now they view the results before they vote and when they revisit the poll .. it just shows them the result .. they can't vote??

Any help appreciated

BTW : Using latest ver of forums and poll mod

So if I set "Allow Users to View Poll Results Before Voting" is set to ON then when they revisit they CAN vote .. is that the way that setting works?

That would be my understanding of it as well.

No, once I view the results I can never go back and vote.. so how exactly does that setting work ???

You'll need to posta new poll after changing that setting to see if there's any change in behaviour.

Did you click on the question sign image beside that option?

What is Allow Users to View Poll Results Before Voting?
With this option Off, users who try to view the poll results before they vote, won't be able to vote afterwards.

Turn this option On, to allow users to vote in the poll, after they have viewed the poll results.

Yes I did and it's the only choice thats not documented in my setup..

As an aside .. is there a way to NOT allow users to view results UNTILL they vote ..

Strange. Sure you using the latest version?

You would have to remove the "View Results" button from topic.asp and inc_poll.asp. If you do a search for the phrase in those files, you'll be able to find it. Just remove that line of code.

If you're unsure of how to do it, post a link to a .txt version of the aforementioned files.

Sorry for bringing up an old topic but i have this problem too. And since i can't do what you just said i will post a txt verion of both of those files.

topic.txt
inc_poll.txt

If there has been a fix that i havn't found other than this i would sure like to know. I wish i could have the option of either one (so if they could see results they could still vote afterwards), but if i had to choose i would rather that they couldn't see the results at all.

Thank you
