I'm using:

MOD VERSION: 1.3
FORUM VERSION: 3.4
AUTHOR: Hamlin

I want to be able to create a form field in the profile under the avatar selection input box for URL. This URL is the location of an avatar. Basically allows people to select their own.

How can I go about doing this?

Also when they edit their profile, the default value is the location of their current avatar. And it shows the avatar in the preview as it would if you select one from the box.

Note - I may take a few days to recieve your email. Hotmail filters all new emails as junk. Would be best to post all questions, concerns in a forum topic to catch my immediate attention. This way others can assist and also correct any similar mistakes.

Zuel,

If I am not mistaken although, you don't have a URL input box in your user profile page if you are using the MOD you state above then there is a link "Submit Avatar" on the profile page that brings up a new window with the ability for your users to add an avatar URL. Or am I getting the "wrong end of the stick" here ?

Go to www.snitzbitz.com and look for the Avatar MOD. Below it you will find add-ons, one of those will add the option for members to link to off-site avatars, and/or upload their avatars to your site.

Zuel,

apologies for the misinformation, I added that MOD a long time ago, and did not realise that I had also included the add-ons. I hope that's what you are looking for.

I see, which addon is it? The one by doramoon adds alot of other funcationality that I don't want and the interface is a bit weird. The rest of the descriptions don't seem to fit an upload function.

The only thing I want is users to be able to change their avatar url in their profile. I created my own uploading functionality.

Anyone know which addon will do this?

I don't need uploading. I want to be able to create a link in someone's profile where they can enter a URL to change their avatar.

I found an alternate solution

Everything is described here:
http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=59908

I created my own Avatar Add on which allows uploading, deleting and members can assign their own avatars.
