Hi
I have had a question from a user who wants to be able to use his account at work and at home - so he was asking if his account can be registered in under both emails.
Is this possible??
Is it as simple as putting a semi colon in between the emails in the email field in the profile once registered under one email - a bit simular to sending more than one emails in an email programme???
If not...Anyone written code that does this?
Thanks
Jo

Does he want to use two different e-mail addresses? Or does he just want to access it from two locations?

Should your user not be able to log in from anywhere using his/her existing username and password, or am I missing something here ?

You can.

I was just wondering if I'd misunderstood the question and they wanted stuff like thier topic subscriptions to go to both addresses.

I guess what he means is whilst he is at work he would like to be notified of any replies from a post and I am guessing he cannot use his personal email at work - so he wants to use two different email addresses under one account.

There is only one field to register user's email. You'd need to add a 2nd column to store emails, just because of a single user's request... You'd also need to change the subscription code to handle that...

Most email programs provide for a method of forwarding mail based on certain criteria. Is it possible that your user can do something along those lines? I don't know if something like Hotmail does forwarding, but if so, he could get a Hotmail account for just the forum. Enter that into his email address in his profile, then have it forward all received mail to one or more additional accounts.
