See: http://www.aypsite.com/forum

This Snitz installation was started up in early July 2005, providing a community for readers of the non-sectarian "open source" Advanced Yoga Practices website with over 300 free lessons on deep meditation, spinal breathing pranayama, tantric sexual methods, mudras and bandhas (inner physical maneuvers), and more.

Daily yoga practices cultivate inner peace, energy, creativity and lasting happiness by purifying and opening the human nervous system to its remarkable innate potential.

The overall website has a readership of 16,000 in 85 countries. 170 have joined the forum so far, with many more reading. There are 430 posted topics as of this writing.

There is nothing technically fancy about the forum setup -- a basic Snitz 3.4.05 install on MySQL with colors and format set to fit the motif of the website. It is working great.

Thank you Snitz for this wonderful software!

I could have sworn I had posted here... I guess I need a memory upgrade...

I like it. Simple. To the point. And I'll probably be back to read some of the articles. (I glanced through a couple)

Though, like dayve hinted at, a little tweaking and/or personalization can go a long way. If you can't find them, then build it. The people here are always willing to help. Right now I'm working on making a series of guitar icons to replace the folders since Warsong Records is a recording lable.

Good luck.

Hi:

Thanks very much for the feedback. Would love to customize things more, and will as time and ability permit down the road. As you no doubt know, a lot of effort goes into working with moderators (we have 7) and other contributors to maximize the quality of forum content, as well as the lesson-writing on the other side of the AYP site.

In addition, I have written two books on spiritual practices in the past two years (a yoga text book and a novel with a Christian orientation), and have at least 3 more in the works. Yikes!

Keep in mind that what may be simple for experienced Snitz folks, like putting up a basic mod, is daunting to a beginner like me. Combine that with the fact that I am clueless about backups and recoveries from mishaps, and you can see why I am not rushing to fix it if it isn't broken.

Looking forward to evolving with Snitz. It is a kind of yoga too. There will be steady progress toward the heights for those who keep practicing, yes?

All the best!

Yogani
