I am new at his so maybe I don't understand how this forum works, but it seems to me that I should be able to make several forums or categories.

The problem I am having is this:
I made several categories, so I thought people could post to each category, but the snit forums testing page shows up in all of them and all the postings for all categories.

Can I have more than one forum and if so how do I do it?
How do I get rid of this testing page?

Newbe,

It takes a bit to figure out the terminology but it will come to you. Read, read, read, (oh, and did I say read?:)) in your own forum "admin options" area, as well as here, in this forum.

And if someone has a site listed, go, take a look at it, so you get a sense of what it can look like. I am always amazed at how everyone approaches from a different angle. It's great to see/experience!

With all of that said, are you referring to the Snitz Forum "structure?" Because, as I said, the "terminology" used might throw you off (but looking at other forums besides Snitz, it seems to be fairly standard). Anyway....

* You create the "Category/ies" (sounds as if you already did this)

* Within each Category you create "Forum/s." (look for the purple folder, off to the right of your category, on the default page)

* Within each "Forum," Members post Topics.

Keep us posted with your progress.

Thanks, your information really helped. I can't believe I overlooked that folder. I must have been tired. You can check it out and see if I did it right. http://www.theperfectsystem.net
I am trying to get this site up and functional in a hurry before my book actually goes to print so I can be sure it is working and I have had nothing but problems with the two ASP Software's that I purchased.

The first one from ASP-Programmers is full of bugs and its been three weeks and they still haven't fixed it, so I order another one from ASP Generator and thought I would try to do it myself and the file is corrupt, so waiting to hear from them. I have been able to do all the ASP projects thus far except the secured pages and the lost password and this seems to be a bit complicated and I am just not experienced enough to do it, but I may have to take the time to learn since I can't seem to find anyone that I can trust to do it for me.

At least the Forum is working, Yeah!

I do have a question. On this original database that loads with the files, how many members will it hold? If it doesn't hold enough can I put it on a bigger database? Do you have a link to this information?

Thanks again for your help.

This is the most recent discussion concerning databases...

Access has a size limit of 2GB per table, so I wouldn't worry about filling it up as much as I would worry about the number of people visiting at a given time.

As mentioned in the above post, if you hava a low-traffic site, Access is fine, though SQL Server or MySQL would be better.

If you do a quick search, you can find all sorts of discussions (and opinions) on Access and its merits (or lack of, depending on who you ask).

I'm not really sure how this whole support thing works but I just hope someone can answer my question.

Basically, I'm losing questions/comments that have been posted to my forum. For example, last night (1/16/08) I posted a new question and was unable to locate that question the following day (1/17/08). In fact, I've lost every question which had been posted since 1/6/08. I'm using Snitz 2000

Also, is there a phone number to reach someone at Snitz?

kabrams, it's enough to post once about any given issue.
