I just noticed this behaviour at http://forum.snitz.com/forum and decided to report it as a bug here. When trying to create an image which points to a URL you have to use the lowercase format of img. Using IMG will not work correctly.
Demo: This code, with uppercase IMG
 outputs this:

However, when posting this latter code along with another piece of code that DOES use the tag instead of the tag, it works perfectly again.
Now, I'm again using the uppercase IMG tag, but I use the lowercase IMG tag in the same post ;
Demo: This code: [url="http://oxle.nl/Hy"][img]http://oxle.nl/Hz[/img][/url] outputs this:

But now, this code, with uppercase IMG [url="http://oxle.nl/Hy"][IMG]http://oxle.nl/Hz[/IMG][/url] outputs this:

Strange effect...< |

I'm getting the exact same thing on both. What's the problem you're seeing?< |

and now the plot thickens even more... Now, the first post is all 'garbled' up, the IMG tags aren't handled correctly. But, here watch this: Now, I'm again using the uppercase IMG tag, but I use the lowercase img tag in the same post ;
Demo: This code: [url="http://oxle.nl/Hy"][img]http://oxle.nl/Hz[/img][/url] outputs this:

But now, this code, with uppercase IMG [url="http://oxle.nl/Hy"][IMG]http://oxle.nl/Hz[/IMG][/url] outputs this:
 And this works fine...< |

[cheering and singing mode]I found a bug, I found a reeeeaaaal bug[/cheering and singing mode]

Now we just need to find the solution. I think we can narrow it down to inc_func_common.asp, in the functions ReplaceURLs, ReplaceImageTags or ChkURLs. But that's about as far as I can go...< |

Have you tested on a clean install, Marcel, to be sure it's a Snitz bug?

IMG used to be case sensitive, iirc it only worked in uppercase full stop, that was changed in around 3.3 I think.< |
