Hello.

I searched for the topic in my subject header and found two different bits of advice.

Advice 1) Remove the word CHECKED from the inc_header.asp page in the line:

<input type=""checkbox"" name=""SavePassWord"" value=""true"" tabindex=""-1"" CHECKED><b> Save Password</b></font></td>" & vbNewLine

Advice 2) In the login.asp page, change the word check to uncheck.

I tried Advice 1, but it did not seem to work. However, Advice 2 did work for me.

My question is, are there any inherent problems with doing what it says in Advice 2 that I'm not aware of? It seems to be working correctly but don't know if I may have done something that will be a mess later down the road. Secondly, why did Advice 1 not work for me?

(In case this matters, I have cookies set to Web and I am using an Access DB.)

I figured out the difference!

It is dependant on how you have your forum set up.

In the Admin Section > Main Forum Configuration, if you have Require Registration OFF, then you will need to change the inc_header.asp page.

If you have Require Registration ON, you will need to change the login.asp page.
