It's just that common error page...

Turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE's advanced options to see the real error message. What do you mean by your inbox? Is this related to the PM mod?
|
Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

Where is this 'IE's advanced options'? I’m talking about the PMs thing I guess... I'm not too familiar with this forum host to tell you the truth. |

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Uncheck "Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages".

Hi,
I'm that forum's admin - it is related to PMs, but it's a custom feature I added in myself (I wrote it before I knew a PM mod already existed), and I'm a little at a loss as to what the problem was. None of the other users reported the same error but I'm not sure how it could be browser related.
For reference, the forum URL is at: http://80.6.95.127/shane/cgi-bin/forum/default.asp
Thanks to you guys for resolving it though - but I'm lost as to how showing the friendly error message could resolve the issue. The mysteries of web programming |

Um ... it can't! lol! Can you provide us with a demo account we can login with to have a look? The error may still be there but not appear in your browser.

I've set up a test user (cunningly called testuser <G>) with the same password. I'd appreciate a look if you can. |

Thanks, it was the line in inc_footer.asp that closed my_conn (the connection that is opened in #inc_header) - and yet the object is used in the line immediately before the #inc statement for inc_footer. The error doesn't occur anywhere else so I'm stumped...
An On Error Resume Next fixed it (well - masked it anyway) but I'll have to investigate further. Thanks for your help! |

You're welcome If you need any more help, post back with links to *.txt copies of those two files and your inc_footer.asp.
