Hello All,
I have inherited the Snitz Forum for our website. The old administrator is unavailable so I do not have access to the administrators section and cannot get the name and password of the last adminstrator since he is unavailable.
How can I change the access data for the adminstrator so I can begin acting as the new administrator?
Thank You Much |

3.4.04. If you have access to the DB, look at the FORUM_MEMBERS table find your User ID (or whoever you want to be admin). Note the MEMBER_ID.
Next open config.asp, and look for:
Const intAdminMemberID = 1
Change the 1 to whatever number your new admins MEMBER_ID is. That should make that person the new admin. |

That won't be enough. The value of the M_LEVEL field for that user, in the database, will have to be changed to 3, as well. |

I thought 3 was a Moderator and 4 was an Admin... or did I misunderstand |

Whoops. I meant to put that in the post as well. Sorry. |

You did. The value of M_LEVEL is not the same as the value of mlev, a variable describing the type of user visiting the forum. |

Ah... thanks. I'd rather find out now than when I start working with it and pulling out the hair I don't have when it didn't work right! |
