I have re-uploaded the search.asp, but the situation is still the same The forum upgrade process seems like something error I don't sure if the forum were upgraded from v 3.4.03 to 3.4.05 by one step
I performed the same upgrade and now *some* of my users are getting this exact same error but some are not (me for instance). I *think* it's a matter of browser since all the screenshots of the error I've received so far have been from IE and I use FireFox.
I see you say to reupload inc_func_secure.asp and inc_header.asp but those two files were not in the sf2k_v34_04up05.zip that I downloaded. Am I missing something?
EDIT: Another user on the same version of FireFox is getting the error. I am still not. I am local to the server on our network whereas the users with the error are accessing it over the Internet if that matters. Other users on my LAN are having the problem though.

You will get the error too if you log out and try to access the search page. Give it a try and stop me if I'm wrong. I have the same issue. I'm not sure if this is the same issue but I read on another site that this problem may have to do with an upgrade in the MySQL server involving password hashing. Maybe useless info but I try. I have a question, on what page is the code for the chkForumAccessNew function? Hopefully hard conversions will fix this problem. one additional note. I did try the fix of changing the connection string option number. This did not work for me.

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.”
Correct Somehow this page didn't have the function when I upgraded to 05. I have copied the new file from the full 05 version and the problem is now solved. Thanks for the help.

I fixed this error by changing inc_header.asp, under sub SForumNavigation (), where the entry is for the search link (lines 591 and 592 for me). Sorry, I don't have the original code, but it works for me now that my code looks like this:
