Hi all,
I'm experiencing some problems with subscriptions, and i wonder if anyone can help.
I'm running forum code 3.4.05 email is turned on and set to CDONT (IIS3/4/5) Subscriptions is set to 'Subscribe to whole board' in the admin feature configuration.
When i send an email to another user, this works ok, so i think it proves the email is configured correctly, but subscriptions aren't getting through.
I have edited each category to allow forum wide subscription.
I've tested a few users and subscribed them to the whole board, i've gone and rechecked the subscription settings within each forum, yet there still not receiving notifications via email.
Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I've also checked the mail in the spam area to make sure the emails aren't coming through as spam by mistake. |

In the admin options i have set the highest level of subscriptions to 'Subscribe to whole board' and for both the categories and forums i have them set to 'forum subscription' allowed. |

AND thats the nuts and bolts of it! Many thanks ruirib, I think alot of us totally forgot (or just didnt know) that you dont get a subscription email on a post you enter.
I was looking a solution for the very same issue I was having and, absorbing what you said, tested with another account - guess what, I received the email ;)
Thanks for giving me (and us) the heads up

I can't seem to find where these settings are located. I've got the "Highest Level of Subscription" set on the "Feature Configuration" page. But where do I find where to set the category level and forum level? (V3.4.05) ( I'm sure it's right in front of me and I just can't see it!)
Thanks. |

Edit the properties of each category and then each forum from default.asp and you should see the relevant options on those pages.

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |
