I'm looking for a audio editor to cut out portions of wav and/or mp3 files to make sound clips with. What would be a decent program to do this with? I've tried google, and downloaded a few programs, but they aren't really what I'm looking for (tried waveflow, sound forge, acid music pro, and cool edit). I'd like it to be simple to use as I only need to do a few small things with it as I said. Does anyone have any suggestions for some programs (preferably free, but it doesn't really matter). Thanks

Once you start getting a little more into it, I'd suggest trying Sound Forge, made by Sonic Foundry. I visited a recording studio last year, and that was one of the programs they were using. It's actually not too badly priced. |

I use "Creative WaveStudio" by Soundblaster. It came free with my Dell. |

I use CoolEdit 2000 but it's no longer available. Adobe purchased the company and now it's part of Adobe's sound editing application (which I haven't tried, it's kind of pricey).

Sony Acid Pro 5 is a really nice loop based program. I've been using it some lately and it's pretty dang neat. |
