how is that done?. I have a xxx.js-script collecting and processing a large amount of data. The result is a table shown inside Snitz/Images latest portal forum. The page showing up ignores the time the script is running and therfore generation-time at the bottom of the page is annoying low for people waiting at least 3 times as long. Can this be done in a way showing exact time för generation?
Even if that is possible I need a calming Please wait message script, any idea where I can get one? Is the Please wait already in Snitz somewhere?

The problem there is you're trying to add the time it takes the server to process a script to the time it takes somebody's browser to render a page. There's no easy way to do so other than reading the page generation time into a javascript variable then initiating a new, javascript counter before anything else on the page is processed and using the onload event to stop the javascript timer, add the two figures together and write them on screen somewhere.

1 000 thx, you saved me a lot of time to figure something out that I in the end wouldn´t be capable of doing anyhow. How about the Please wait - script, is there one in Snitz or should I search the net? |

You're welcome
Haven't I seen a loading message as part of Image's Portal Mod? I've definitely seen it on a couple of Snitz sites which I think were running it, will keep an eye out for you.

Exactly what I was looking for. It´s two o´clock in the morning here in Sweden. That explains perhaps why I didn´t get it to work as I´ve seen it work on other sites. I am using inc_header on the page and tried to put the script there but something went wrong. I'll fight it tomorrow. Thank you and good morning to you! |
