Title: Avatar MOD Version: 1.0 Download: Download Installation: read the included readme.txt file for installation instructions. Description: For all of the user's who have wanted to add Avatars in the author box on Topic.asp. Demo: No Demo available as most functions are on the Admin side. Support: Please post questions and problems with this MOD in the Help: MOD Implementation Forum.
Features: Admin interface for: Adding Avatars Reviewing current Avatars Editing of current Avatar locations Deleting of current Avatars uses DHTML for instant preview of currently selected Avatar in dropdown list for user's selection
Possible issues: This MOD uses the Dynamic Image selector from www.dynamicdrive.com I am not aware of any incompatibilities with Netscape, but there may be some. I have not tested this with Netscape.
Make sure that you use the mod_dbsetup.asp file that comes with this MOD, especially if you are using MySQL. |

Hi Richard,
Is this mod specifically for an sr?
Will it work with sr2?
If it is sr4, could it be ok for sr2 if I make appropriate changes with cookies? Any other issues related to this that you may know of?
Cheers!

The only file that would need to be modified is pop_avatar_delete.asp.
just change strUniqueID to strCookieURL everywhere you see it in pop_avatar_delete.asp. |

Ok... going through your list of modifications, I'm a little unsure about one thing, so far ...
My Pop_PROFILE is quite modified so the line numbers aren't even close...
The closest that the line 616 and 722 come are the:
case "goEdit" case "goModify"
Are these two sections that you want the additions?

Yes, I just gave the line #'s as a reference. The code that I showed that you should look for is only in that file twice, so just search for the code if your line #'s don't match up. |

The reason I asked about it explicitly is because there seems to be third entry under:
case "display"
This is around line 250 in my code though... so I doubt if I 've confused anything...
Thanks again!
Rob

Yes, It shows the user's Avatar in the same place as the one at the link you posted. But, then uses it's own database field instead of using the one meant for the User's Pictures. This one adds an admin interface to add avatars to a list for the user's to choose from (they cannot use links, they can only select from the ones you provide them). The list where they choose their Avatar has a preview window next to it to instantly show what the avatar looks like.
The output is the same though. |

Thanks for the clarification, that might be a better way to go!

Richard... Couple Questions.
Is it possible to make a personal Avatar? so other members can't use that persons avatar?
and I found this forum that uses a popup window to show the avatars how can I create something like that? or where can I find it for download? I'm not a coder this would solve my issue with Netcrap not viewing the avatar with the Dynamic Image selector mod.

Richard..
How do I make it default to "None" for Avatars?
Right now if I edit a member I have to make sure I set it back to none because it auto selects the last Avatar.
Richard... This only happens when you go back to "Edit" a profile... When you register it Defaults to "None"
Thanks, Rick
