After some persistent work trying to setup and install my Snitz Forum 3.4.05 I finally got it.

1. My first error was to assume, without checking, that my server/host was set up for ASP. I finally called them - found out they were NOT! Actually I didn't even know whom I should address as my server/host, but finally I called the company where I have my free web-site. In the meantime I had found out that my host/OS was a Linux and that my server was Apache. I did this using http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=www.tripod.spray.se&probe=1

2. I then went down the list of free servers at:
http://hifi-konsulenten.dk/asp/
where I ended up clicking on "register" at http://www.domaindlx.com/ and perhaps I'll also get one at http://www.developer.graphyx.net/default.asp

3. Finally I got myself into a position where I could use the whereami.asp file to tell me the correct path to use. Has had to put the snitz_forums_2000.mdb file in the same path as the rest of the program initially though...

Why, because the server where I wanted to place the db file does not support ASP and thus I can't run whereami.asp on it

So, friends, how do I resolve this one? Is there a whereami.php or whereami.exe file I could use for that purpose, or...?

Thanks in advance for helping me with this as well!

If the server does not support ASP, I don't see you can run Snitz?! Or maybe you meant something else and I misunderstood you.

The instructions said to place the .mbd file outside of the web site where the program is located, so I thought I'd place it with another server, which, however, doesn't support ASP...

But maybe there is a better way, maybe I misunderstood something?

Thanks, that was real quick of you!

You can't do that not with an Access database. Use one of those servers for the whole forum, you can't use it just for the database.
