I spent the better half of the morning removing the admin email address from profile.asp and faq.asp, and directing my website "email me" links to a form. They both work great now. The problem is that with email disabled on the forum, anyone can register with bogus info and then get my email address from the member list and I can't change my member profile to redirect to my form because it has to be in user@domain.com format. (The forum is for political discussion so I'm preparing for the worst case scenerio).
I do not understand even the basics of enabling email support, and I've spent a long time searching these forums. I take it the only way to dissuade potentially obnoxious posters is to verify their email address by contacting them with a password (either automatically or admin-generated). Where can I find a step-by-step guide to installing a random password generator? And is this the best solution or is there a way to redirect my admin profile's email address to my Contact form?
Thanks all!
