I don't know is this is the right forum to post this topic, but this is the most general forum so..
I'm running II5.1 on WinXp sp2 and sometimes asome users tell me that cannot access to the forum due to many user already connect to the server. Is it possible?? how can i solve the problem?? where can i set the max users??

There is a hard coded limit on that version of IIS which you cannot change.

Microsoft have it designed that way. It is meant for development purposes not as a full web server.

is so better that i pass to apache?? does snitz work fine with apache??

No, IIS is the only option. If you're hosting from home, and want to keep doing so, you need to use a server operating system, like Windows 2003 Server. IMHO, you'd better get a paid host.

With a server OS, there is no limit. The max number of users will be determined much more by the ability of the server to handle online users - RAM, CPU and disk will be the limiting factors.

I stronly advise against hosting on your own unless you have a strong technical knowledge of the OS in use and of the security issues that may arise with hosting.

You could also use a free asp host

interestiong ideas, but now i prefer the patch i found on the net to increase the max connection :-)
