I just got a previous problem resolved (http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=57843). now when i go to email configuration under the admin menu. i switch on the send random password button and when i apply it everything seems fine. i go back and now its back to off.. people can register. they get an email with a blank email field. any ideas.

thanks in advance

I don't think its resolved yet. I was able to register (username: test) and got the email with no password.

I was then able to login using "test" with no password.

Did you make changes to register.asp recently? If not, double check that you installed the random password mod correctly.

First of all thanks for helping out. First I set all fields to allow zero length. and that fixed my previous problem of getting that zero length error. The Random password mod was working fine for a couple month and then this started. i didnt change anything in the setup files. Is there a way to uninstall a mod and then reinstall it? i wouldnt mind just getting the forum back to its default state but with all my info still in it.

thanks for the help...

As far as I can see the password is not being generated and inserted into the database.

If you still have the random password mod instructions, go through them and check that there are no errors.
