Does anyone else, apart from myself and Mr Pink, use 1 and 1? Do they have any problems? If so can they respond please. I think we need a joint assault on them to get problems fixed.

Cheers

Trevor

Yeah I use 1&1.

At the moment they're support is bogged down (supposedly), and they keep saying that their 24 hour reponse will be up and running again soon.

What kind of problems are you / have you experienced with them?

A lot of the links have gone haywire inmine and other snitz forums. All at the same time and all the same symptoms. This happened at the beginning of March when thry denied any responsibility but it mysteriously fixed itself.

Cheers ruirib.

I haven't had any problems with links going haywire, but I used to get a problem where my databases would lose their access rights out of nowhere.

I think that they have moved their call centre because I keep getting chinese sounding people and also there is a delay when talking on the phone after 5:00pm.

As this problem has not been fixed since being reported on Thursday evening I have decided that I would be better relocating my websites. I have found another host with a package that will handle my muliple domains without breaking the bank.

Who have you chosen to move to, because I've been thinking about moving for a while?

Pipeten are current favourites. I think they are a reseller and as I am a light user, the package seems to meet all my needs.

My only concern is the hassle of changing the IPS tags of my domains, which could take a while under 1and1's system.

I've had their professional package for two years now. I signed up under their free promotion a couple of years back and got three years of free hosting. I have had absolutly no problems with them, even though I host only a very small site with them. I have one more year with them for free and then I'll move the site over to my server.

Well this problem has yet to be solved. I have an MS Business package with them and pay enough for it. To say I am less than happy is an understatement!
