Is information in hidden forums search-able? - I mean, can Google or other search engines find hidden allowed member forums?

On a scale of 1 to 10 (ten highest), how would you rate the security of an "Allowed Member List (Hidden)" from prying eyes?

Do not have an answer, I am just wondering how to hide information about all members for everyone but the admin?

Robots cannot find the allowed member forums if they are hidden. A robot would view the forum as if it were a visitor who wasn't logged in.

I would rate it 10.

Besides, only logged in members that are part of the access list can browse the forums contents. As the robots are members and are not in the list, they cannot browse the forums.

What do you want to do? Restrict access to the members page or also to the member's profiles?

Both.

There are more then 30 000 members on my site. I am now going to implement Snitz forum (Image portal version). Since none of my members have agreed to be member of the forum with all its possibilities to find out information about themselfes I need to hide all information to everyone but admin until members choose to be public.

Tipically you can test whether a member is admin or not through a test like this:

if mlev < 4 then
code for non-admins (usually a message stating that the page cannot be accessed)
   WriteFooter
   Response.End
end if

So it's just a matter of addding this to the top members.asp and pop_profile.asp.

Edited: correction in the mlev value. Admins have mlev of 4, not 3. Sorry for the mishap.
