When making a post, what is the "Insert Code" button for ?

I ahve and it don't do much - not helping much without knowing what to put in there or the syntax

It's just another forum tag - one that preserves the formatting of whatever you insert inside. It won't break lines and such. We use it to provide ASP or SQL code listings, for example.

The pre tag is a HTML tag, not a forum code tag. The code tag is implemented through a pre tag.
